For Authors

Before preparing a submission, authors are encouraged to review the journal’s scope and manuscript requirements. AJAWEL accepts four types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Articles (5,000 words),
  2. Short Communications (2,500 words),
  3. Case Reports (2,500 words), and
  4. Review Articles (7,500 words).

You can download detailed formatting guidelines for the Title Page and anonymized manuscript below. Please remember not to include author names and affiliations in the anonymized manuscript, since we follow a double-blind peer review process. This helps maintain fairness and objectivity in the review process. Authors are also encouraged to recommend a minimum of two potential reviewers who have no conflicts of interest with the submission, including their full name, affiliation, and email address. Please prepare the following documents for submission to ensure anonymity:

  1. Title Page
  2. Anonymized Manuscript
  3. Cover letter

Please rename your manuscript in this order: ‘Anonymized Manuscript_Title’ and so on.

Manuscript format

Each manuscript type has its own recommended word limit (excluding tables and references). Authors are encouraged to follow these limits to maintain clarity and focus; however, slightly longer submissions may be considered if the content is concise and well-justified.

Manuscripts must be submitted in Word (Word 2007 or higher) and written in American English using standard scientific conventions. Authors who are not native English speakers are encouraged to have their manuscript language-checked before submission to ensure clarity and readability. While authors may use either American English, spelling and grammar must remain consistent throughout the manuscript. Please avoid long sentences, excessive Latin terms, and unnecessarily technical language to ensure clarity and readability.

The title must be concise and informative, may contain up to 14 words, and each word must be capitalized, formatted in Maiandra GD (14 pt, bold, centered). The abstract should use Maiandra GD (10 pt, single-spaced) and follow the maximum word count specified for each manuscript type. Keywords should use Maiandra GD (10 pt, italic) and include 4–5 terms, with the most significant keyword listed first.

The main text must be double-spaced, justified, and written in Maiandra GD (11 pt), except for tables and figure captions. A single line space should separate each paragraph and section. Line numbers should be activated to assist the review process. Subchapters should be formatted in Maiandra GD (11 pt, bold, left-aligned), while sub-subchapters should use Maiandra GD (11 pt, italic, left-aligned).

 

Use of AI and Large Language Models

Large Language Models or LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) may be helpful in everyday tasks, but they should not be used to generate ideas, arguments, or new content for the manuscript without carefully verifying the accuracy and validity of any statements produced. It also cannot be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the content they generate. AI tools are permitted solely for language refinement, such as improving grammar, clarity, readability, and style. Any substantial use of AI beyond copy-editing must be briefly noted in the Methods section (or another appropriate section). All text produced with AI assistance must be checked carefully by the authors to ensure accuracy, avoid repetition, and prevent changes in meaning. The use of fabricated citations or references generated by AI tools is strictly prohibited.

 

Article Processing Charge

There are no submission fees, additional charges beyond, or Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted articles.
