About the Journal

Asian Journal of Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law (AJAWEL) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to bridging veterinary medicine, law, philosophy, social sciences, and public policy, thereby promoting sustainable animal welfare. The journal encourages multidisciplinary exchange among scholars, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the general community. AJAWEL is published in English and follows a bimonthly schedule, with regular issues released in April and September, except for special issues.

Mission

  • Disseminating ethical, relevant, and innovative research.
  • Establishing collaborative networks with academic and professional institutions at both national and international levels.
  • Raising public awareness about the importance of animal welfare and the responsibilities humans have toward animals.

Vision

To become a leading scientific platform in Asia for animal welfare, ethics, and law, promoting more humane and ethically based veterinary policies and practices.

Objectives

  • Provide an open academic forum for research, reviews, and scholarly perspectives on animal welfare, ethics, and law in Asia.
  • Encourage constructive interdisciplinary collaboration across veterinary science, legal studies, sociology, and public policy.
  • Strengthen ethical and legal understanding of human–animal relations.
  • Support evidence-based advocacy for improved animal welfare standards at regional and global levels.
